Piano
Pianos are affected by many factors including frequency of use, being moved around, changes in temperature, humidity, and age. These can all affect the strings inside the piano causing them to sound wonky. This is why it is important to have your piano tuned every 1-3 years depending on use. I offer onsite piano tuning, which involves adjusting each string in the piano so that it produces not only the desired pitch but also matches and blends with the other strings and keys in the piano. This will get your piano sounding so good that you will look forward to hearing it!
The standard piano tuning costs $150 and takes from 1.5 - 2 hours
In some cases, your piano may require a pitch adjustment. This can become necessary when the piano has been exposed to extreme swings in temperature or humidity or if it has been years since it was last tuned. This process involves more significant adjustments to the strings requiring additional tuning of the strings.
If a pitch adjustment is required the cost is $40 and will take an additional 30-60 minutes.
I also offer repair and refinishing services for your piano to help it maintain its structural integrity and beauty for future generations of your family to enjoy.
Brass
Brass instruments, such as trumpets, f horns, baritones, trombones, and tubas need to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis to ensure they remain fun to play, function smoothly, look great and to prevent rot of the brass tubes.
If your instrument is played outdoors, it is especially important that you get it serviced at least twice a year.
I offer a range of services to include precision soldering, chemical cleaning, dent removal, and valve alignment to help you keep your instrument working its best.
Woodwinds
Woodwind instruments including flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboes & bassoons are precision padded instruments and require adjustment on a regular basis. Unlike brass instruments where dents, grime and stuck parts are obvious, woodwinds repairs are more difficult to see. The slightest leak in a pad can make it difficult to play. If you or your student are struggling to get notes to speak (play/sound correctly) it is very likely that one or more of the pads on the instrument need to be adjusted to seal correctly.
Depending on your instrument’s needs I offer three basic levels of repair service:
